BLEPHAROPLASTY FOR PORTLAND, OR
EYELID SURGERY IN OREGON
Many people feel they look more tired or older than they really are because of the drooping skin or bags around their eyes. Due to the delicate nature of the skin in this area, this is often the first part of the face where people show signs of aging. Occasionally, extra drooping skin of the upper eyelid can actually interfere with a person’s field of vision. Blepharoplasty in Portland at The Waldorf Center for Plastic Surgery can improve vision for patients who have to hooding of their upper eyelids. An eye doctor can evaluate visual fields to determine if the removal of eyelid skin is medically necessary.

From a cosmetic perspective, while eyelid surgery is quite effective at correcting drooping skin, patients should be aware that blepharoplasty will not remove “crow’s feet,” eliminate dark circles under the eyes, or lift sagging eyebrows. Talk to The Waldorf Center team about surgical and nonsurgical options for addressing these conditions.

YOUR BLEPHAROPLASTY CONSULTATION
The Waldorf Center emphasizes the importance of patients making informed decisions when it comes to cosmetic procedures, including blepharoplasty. An initial consultation will allow anyone considering eyelid surgery to meet with the surgeon to ask questions about the procedure and the potential results. The consultation will involve a physical examination and a discussion of personal cosmetic goals. This time is also intended for the patient and surgeon to lay the foundation for a relationship because comfort and trust are crucial elements of any procedure.
Like all surgical procedures, eyelid surgery carries a certain degree of risk. Each patient choosing blepharoplasty surgery should understand these risks, as well as the associated potential complications and reactions. This information will be discussed in detail at both your consultation and your pre-operative appointments.
YOUR BLEPHAROPLASTY PROCEDURE
During a blepharoplasty, excess skin and fat from both the upper and lower eyelids are removed, and the underlying muscles and tissue are tightened. By removing excess skin and fat, the look around the eyes is cleaned up and softened, giving a more youthful and refreshed appearance. Incisions are placed in the natural lines of the upper or lower eyelids, so the scars are nicely hidden.*
Special Financing Available
The Waldorf Center in Portland, OR, offers special financing for the recommended surgical or non-surgical procedure you want. Convenient monthly payments can be structured to fit your financial situation. Call the practice for more information at 503-646-0101 or contact us online.
The surgery takes one to two hours, and can be performed using a variety of anesthesia options. Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure, so you will go home the same day.
RECOVERING FROM BLEPHAROPLASTY
Because eyelid surgery impacts the entire eye area, you may resume reading two to three days after surgery. Most blepharoplasty patients return to non-strenuous work seven to 10 days following surgery. One should plan to have some swelling and bruising around the eyes for up to two weeks after surgery. You can return to strenuous activity levels in four to six weeks.*
