Breast Lift (Mastopexy)
Many women notice changes in shape and position of their breasts after childbirth, weight loss or just with time. At the Waldorf Center, we can help erase the effects of gravity and restore a more youthful shape and position to your breasts.
A breast lift, or mastopexy, does not increase breast size, but can be combined with a breast augmentation to improve the shape and volume of your breasts if loss of volume is also a concern.
The procedure is performed by making incisions to remove excess skin and to reposition the nipple. Dissolvable stitches are used to close the incisions. Unfortunately, the process of removing the extra skin results in scars, usually around the nipple and on the lower portion of the breast. You can expect the scars to be pink initially, and then they typically fade nicely after a few months. Generally, patients go home the same day as surgery. The expected recovery time before returning to most normal activities and work is about a week.
